Entitlements of SEEPZ SEZ

• SEEPZ SEZ units are eligible for a tax holiday as per the provision of the Income-tax Act.
• Duty free import of capital goods and equipment from preferred sources.
• Exemption from Customs duty on imported capital goods, raw materials, components, consumables, spares, tooling and packaging materials.
• Exemption from Central Excise duties and other levies on products manufactured within the Zone.
• Excise exemption on capital goods, raw materials, computers etc. procured from Domestic Tariff Area.
• Special dispensations and relaxations in local laws and levies including Octroi, Sales Taxes and Property Tax.
• Capital Goods and all other inputs supplied to the Zone from the rest of the country, are treated as Deemed Exports and are eligible for deemed export benefits such as Duty Drawbacks, Terminal Excise Duty and CST Reimbursement. This enables easy availability of materials at International Prices at Zero Inventory.
• The SEEPZ Service Centre within the Zone is the One-Stop Shop, which caters to all the needs of the Zone units. The supportive administrative system helps new firms to get down to production within the shortest possible time, concentrate on their export activity and run their operations smoothly.
• Units set up in SEEPZ SEZ will be charged rent for lease of industrial plots and standard design factory buildings/she as per the rate fixed from time to time.
• Foreign Equity upto 100% is permissible in the case of SEEPZ SEZ units.
• Remittance of profits and dividends earned by foreign investors in the zone is allowed freely after payment of taxes.
• Goods manufactured in SEEPZ SEZ are permitted to be sold on payment of applicable duties.

International Air-port Just 6 km. Away

Transport and Communications SEEPZ is just 6 kms, away from Mumbai's international airport at Sahar. Every week 200 international flights of 20 major airlines take off from Sahar to the rest of the world.The docks are only 30 kms, away from the Zone. Mumbai, one of Asia's finest natural harbours, offers excellent shipping facilities. Regular container services are also available.

The city is well connected by rail, road and air to the rest of India.

SEEPZ is also well connected from various parts of city by local train and the urban transport service.

The telecommunication network links Mumbai to the rest of the country and to all important international centres via Intelsat and high frequency radio circuits.

Point -to-Point dedicated data communication facilities are available at SEEPZ.

In-House customs clearance.

The Zone has its own ports of entry with a fully staffed customs wing and simplified procedures, to ensure speedy clearance of incoming and outgoing consignments. Hence there is no need for the same to be carried out either at the airport or the docks.

Un-interrupted Power supply.

As SEEPZ is statutorily exempt from power cuts, uninterrupted power supply is guaranteed from the generating stations of Western Maharashtra.

The average charges for power are approximately Rs. 6.90 per unit (effective from 1.3.1997)

The Government of Maharashtra reimburses duty on electricity consumed by SEEPZ Units in connection with export production activity.
